Rosenglory or What Happens when your Fairy Godmother is a Bad Woman

Little Rosenglory was a beautiful girl and the only bright spot in a home of poverty, drunkenness and abuse. She was not very smart but found aesthetic pleasure in the physical world.

Orphaned and separated from her brother, Rosenglory was taken from the charity house to be a servant in a wealthy household. She worked hard in the nursery and the kitchen. Eventually, as her young Master grew, he noticed her beauty and because he was raised to be selfish in his pleasure, young Master seduced her.

But Rosenglory and her young Master were found out, and her wicked Mistress cast her out. Rosenglory found a place again in a neighbor's household but once again her beauty garnered unwanted attention. She fled but took payment not freely given.

Rosenglory was arrested and sent to an island prison with a bad woman. And Rosenglory's evil knowledge was increased. When she was released back into the world, no proper household would have her.

Providence would have it that Rosenglory once again ran into her young Master. Young Master had grown no wiser and kept Rosenglory until he married a proper Lady.

Rosenglory's brother, Jerry returned from the sea blind. He searched the city until Providence once again moved. Jerry finally found withered Rosenglory dying in the poor house. She was used up and condemned as a great sinner.

The only mourners at her death were a blind flute player and a host of pitying angels.
